Learning Activities:
Activity #1: Twitter
- In order to participate in a Twitter chat, students must set up their own Twitter account if they have not already done so. A teacher account will be used to show students how to create their own Twitter account in order to access the Twitter chat. Steps to create a Twitter account are as follows:
- Go to Twitter.
- Click "Sign Up" in the top right corner.
- Complete the necessary information and create Twitter profile.
- Students will participate and contribute to an #AdWeekChat that is hosted by @AdWeek. This chat occurs every Wednesday at 2 pm ET. They will need to provide proof of participation and collaborations with other users via screenshots of their contributions and/or an archive of the Twitter chat.
- Students will use the information they learn later in Activity #3.
Activity #2: Padlet
- Students will create their own Padlet account.
- Click "Sign Up" and choose the method in which you wish to create an account.
- Go to the Advertising Campaigns Padlet created by the instructor.
- Each student will choose a different brand/company.
- Research a successful or unsuccessful advertising campaign for your brand/company.
- Complete questions 1-5 by posting on the provided Padlet page.
- Comment or post a question to two other student's posts.
Activity #3: Voice Thread
- Create a Voice Thread account
- Click on "Register" and fill out the necessary information to create an account.
- Listen to the directions in the Voice Thread provided by the instructor below.
- Create a new advertising campaign for your brand/company used in Activity #2, via Voice Thread.
- Add slides, visuals, and narration. Make sure to use the 6 Steps for Planning an Advertising Campaign as your guide! Use your creative ideas and comments from your classmates from Activity #2 and insights learned from the #AdWeekChat in Activity #1.
- Share the Voice Thread presentation with your instructor.
- Comment on three other student's advertising campaign Voice Thread presenataions.
