"Teachers who use instructional video report that their students retain more information, understand concepts more rapidly and are more enthusiastic about what they are learning." ("Why," 2015). This different type of media allows students to see content in a different light and become engaged through multimedia instruction.
I really enjoyed interviewing my co workers to learn about "why and how they use videos in their educational areas." My goal was to interview educators in different content areas. A common response from all was that they use videos to provide examples of what they are teaching, and make learning more relevant and meaningful . It is awesome to see that technology can be used to enhance the what is being taught in any content area or grade level. Educational videos "facilitate thinking and problem solving, assist with mastery learning, inspire and engage students, and create authentic learning opportunities" ("Pedagogical", 2006). These benefits will help students engage in higher levels of thinking and learn by applying the knowledge learned to real-life situations. References: Pedagogical benefits. (2006). I really enjoyed watching this! I think your fellow teachers had some great points. It's cool to see the different applications possible with video. I like how the English teacher said he uses video to connect the literature to the student's modern world. I think that trying to make the material relevant to the students is exactly what teachers are trying to do, or should be trying to do in any subject. Video and audio can really aid and assist in this attempt to connect what the students often see as two different worlds.

I am glad to see the different sections that every teacher you interviewed has and how they use videos in their classrooms. Listening to the flipped classroom model was very intriguing. I am sure it takes time to find quality videos if not creating your own to make it understandable for students. The great thing is that if students feel lost when watching the video they can always replay it.

Nice video! I have the same approach as the first teacher who spoke, short videos from online are a great way to provide visuals for the students. I also adopted some of the same principals that the math teachers uses at the end in flipping lessons some times. I don't replace my usually lectures in my AP Euro class as he seems to do but I'll post videos onto my Google Classroom that I believe will help the students by reinforcing ideas or reviewing material throughout the year.

I love the comments from the math teacher! When I think back to my schooling there were few integrations of technology (probably mostly due to my age!) but when there were, it was usually the tv and VCR wheeled in on a cart to history class or sometimes English, certainly never in math.
